Unhappy 09 ultra two into one into two exhaust

I would like your thoughts on this. As soon as i get 1000 miles on my 09 Ultra i will install the CVO air cleaner and Rinehart exhaust slip ons but in looking over the stock head pipes i see the cross under pipe is oval and kind of flat and wonder how much loss this causes. I don't care about hp only torque. I see Vance & Hines has a new head pipe called power duals but i can't find any real info on them other than what V&H say's. Do you know if any one makes a bolt on cross under pipe.

The left side pipe is more show than functional on the 09's The stock pipe configuration is more of a 2 into 1 system than a dual exhaust. Its a 2 into 1 into 2 design.

I'm not sure this is quite correct on the 09's. With my stock system, there was slightly more flow coming from the *left* tip than the right. This was confirmed on another 09 at the same time. Keep in mind this was a hand test, holding our hand behind the mufflers at both idle and at partial throttle openings. They are now flowing pretty much equally since I installed the SE Touring mufflers.

Saw another member had installed a new release by V&H called Dresser Duals which is a little different set up so you might want to take a look at them also.

+1 I had more flow out of the left side than the right.

The tuners who have spent a lot of time on the dyno with the '09s seem to hold the stock headers in high regard. One tried to build a better set of headers and only ended up with a tiny gain. So it seems you can't judge it by appearance.
