I looked into Tune Trapper too. I have heard good things about it. What stoped me was Kuryakyn claims it does not get weather band. Does yours work on weather band?
I've had a Dakota Digital Hidden Antenna since my bike was new in late 03. I get better reception than the stock antenna and I was able to pick up a number of stations in both Cave Creek, Phoenix and Mesa. It's probably due to where you have it located within the fairing.
Just put a Tune Trapper Hidden Antenna in Terrie's Street Glide (same location within the fairing as my Dakota Digital) and she's happy with it.
I guess you're the only lucky one as you see many people on this thread having the same problems I have. Where in the fairing did you install yours?
Actually, several say they've had good luck with them. I ride with a bunch of CVO owners and they all have either the Dakota Digital or Tune Trapper and they don't have issues.
Put it to the outside edge.....away from any metal.
Get Sirius satellite radio, hide the magnetic antenna in the fairing and remove the radio antenna completely. Since subscribing to sattellite radio 4 years ago, I have not tuned into an FM station even once!
