I've heard mixed reviews on the 03 100th annivarsary Ultra --- any opinions or hard facts... $10k for an 03 w/ 23,000 miles seems like a good deal but it seems like prices have dropped on ebay ..... your thoughts?

If you already have an 06 why would you be looking for an 03 unless you want the Anniversary bike as a collector.

There have been a few that have gone as low as $8,000.00 with little to no extras

I have an 03 Anniversary and would not part with it, I had several bikes before this and sold a beautiful 2000 softail (First year softail with TC 88) to purchase this bike as I figured I would keep this to hand down years from now. I can always buy another bar hopper anytime.

I have never had any problem with my bike but after a fly and ride with some friends where we rented 07's I decided to "update" my bike

I added a Baker DD6 Transmission and Power Commander 111 The transmission change made fall in love all over again with my bike.

If you already own an Ultra you might want to get something more different than you already have, If a 100 anniversary bike is what you want maybe a differnt model or a new Rocker.

Good Luck!!

As for "mixed reviews" on the 2003 Ultra I don't know what specifically you would be referring to because there were no issues that I'm aware of with that model year. I owned an '03 Ultra and it was great. Would still be riding it today if it wasn't for the fact that it was totaled. The only debate I remember about the 100th Anniv bikes was the same debate that goes on with all the Anniv bikes and that is whether or not they are any more collectible than any other model year. The general consensus seems to be "no" since HD produces Anniv bikes every 5 years. I disagree...especially since the 100th Anniversary was a milestone in the HD company history...but only time will tell.

Love my 03 Anniversary Ultra. I think $10,000 is a great price. Have had no issues other than replacing wheel bearings due to the bike sitting for so long and getting corrosion on the bearings/axles. Bike only had 4500 miles when I bought it back in October...but it's up to 7500 now and I plan to put as many miles as I can on it.

I like mine. I bought it used in April `06 with 4K miles on the clock and have put 36k on it since with zero issues. I personally think the silver/black combo is the best paint scheme H-D has ever put on the road. I did put a big bore kit and new cams and gear drives at 25K and that was the best $ I've put in it. I think $10K is great deal on it as long as it has been taken care of. Miles don't mean a hell of a lot to me as I've seen low mileage bikes that have sit in a barn somewhere that I wouldn't take over one that has been ridden and maintained....just MHO. As far as being collectible....think that's BS, too damned many of them built for them to be an investment. Motorcycles are meant to be ridden, not looked at on a shelve.

I asked my local harley mechanic about the 03 Ultras and he told me they have a history of shutting off and stalling. He said it seems like it should be a ground wire connection but they can never get it figured out on a few of them. And another guy at the dealership told me the 03's seem to be less roomy than other models -- but i dont buy that because its the same frame, tins, etc.....
