Default 2006 HK Stereo w/MP3 CDs

I love the MP3 players...filling a single CD with about 175 songs is fantastic.

But does anyone know if there is a way to get the stereo to display the MP3 song identification info? On my car stereo, also an MP3 CD player, I see the artist and song name. It makes it much easier to find specific songs when you have so many on 1 disc.

I have tried burning the MP3s to CD in a number of formats:
1) Putting song files int o folder by artist name
2) Putting all songs in the root folder of the CD
3) Buring an audio CD (not MP3s)

None show the song/atrist info. Of course, I do see song/artist info when listening to radio stations.

Any ideas?

Thanks, jdag

I recently put a sony deck on my bike and have been ripping cd's using windows media player 10 and using Roxio to burn to cd and it shows the name of the songs on the deck. I did not put them into a folder, just let it burn in alpha order, no need for shuffle.

jdag, have you tried those MP3 CD's in another MP3 capable player? (not your computer) Do the songs show up on that player (the one in your car for example?) That would be the first thing I check.

Other than that, I'd try to see if that firmware update that people are talking about changes anything with the title. I went aftermarket (Sony MP3 deck), so I can't comment on whether the HK decks will show that information, but I recall someone else asking that as well in a different forum.

Yeah - I've tried these same burned CDs in my car and it does shoe the ID info. Looks like this is just a shortfall of the HK stereo.

I am just fine with the fact that it'll even play mp-3's. If a tune comes up that I dont like, heck, I've got hours of more music right behind it. Maybe I'm just easy that way. Happy with what it'll do as is. IMO

I am with Timex on that note. It allows me to keep my eyes on the road instead of the dash. There is enough to deal with when on 2 wheels than to worry about what tune I want to hear next. If I burn my own cd's then every tune is my favorite. Just my humble opinion, worth about .02 cents. Staying alive, priceless.
