I had the S&S 510gs in my '00 RKC. They definitely make a difference. I miss them and am contemplating have them installed in my Street Glide. The exhaust sound was more aggressive and the power was outstanding.

i ran 510s in my 01 for a year or so with a PC. later changed to andrews 21Gs (closer to factory stock) and no PC. ran just as good and didn't have the glitches that PCs can have with M&M FI.

I put some in my 2000 EGC, I love em, no problem rolling the throttle and feeling the response, running solo up hills in WV and PA loaded down was a real breeze.

I had them in my old '99 RKC. I think they are a good cam when combined with 3.37 primary gearing. Cruising at freeway speeds has you right in the power band. Passing was a blast. One of my favorite things to do with that bike was pin the throttle in 5th gear at about 70mph and count to 5.

I haven't used the S&S 510's, but have had the Head-Quarters HQ-0034's for 2+ years/20K miles and recommend them to you for consideration. They have an intake valve close of 36* while the 510's close at 40*. The earlier intake close brings the torque on earlier (which is why you often see this and the other 40* intake close cams installed with a 4* advance key.) I've been please enough with the HQ cams that I haven't thought about a 95" build.

Somebody feel free to correct me if you have contrary info, but I was told that Andrews machines the cams for S&S. I did a 95" build on my '01 FLSTS that included the 510G. I was VERY pleased and never had a lick of problems. It ran fast, quick and hard.

Default have s&s 510 on road king

im not that impressed with off the line but thier very quiet as oposed to
what some say about gears being noisy i think gas milage dropped a bit but still getting about 35 miles to the gal over all the 1300 cost verses replacing a motor after the shoes burn off and fall into the motor im happy with my choice however , i think harly should just put them in stock then we wouldnt have to add that to overall cost of a harley. but i know we all love spending money on them .. go for it u wont be sorry you can sleep at nite knowing the cam chains are long gone !

Take a look at Dave Mackie Eng.His cams are a little more aggressive. His stuff is real popular here in Michigan.Ive used his 510 and 590 both real nice cams.

I have the 510gs in my 05 RK Custom & love the way the bike runs! I have a mild 98" build. I got a deal I couldn't refuse on the 510s,$350 for the complete 4 gear kit new in the box from a guy I work with so I figured I'd put em in & see how they ran & if I didn't like them I'd only have to buy a different set of cams not the whole kit with the gears. I was doing a 98" build & bought my cylinder kits & pushrods etc. from Steve @ GMR(great guy by the way, very helpful!!) I told Steve what cams I had when I bought the cylinder kits & he recommended a 4% advance key for the cams. GMR also did some minor porting & decked the heads to bring the comp. up to 9.8 to 1 The bike also has bassoni power-curve duals ,roller rockers & a pc111 with a custom map. I love the way it runs,It winds up fast, pulls the wheel real nice on a 1-2 shift, still has tons of bottom end & it'll still get 44 mpg. I'm very happy with it!! It makes 97 hp & 104 tq
