According to the HD description, they only fit FLHR, FLHRC, and FLTR. Any reason they wouldn't also fit an Ultra Classic? If so, would they also not require extended cables on the UC?

 

I was told that Ultra Classics (or any model with the batwing fairing) requires a wider bar at the base due to the fairing. The chubby apes on my Heritage Softail Classic will not fit my new Electra Glide

 

Nope will not fit. You can buy higher bars from HD if that's what you're after. The cables will also need to be changed.

 

I looked at same when I was trading my 07 RKC for the 09 Ultra, had to do the same switch on the RKC the stock bars hurt me bad. There were the High and Reach bars from HD and a few others available on the after market, figured I'd wait til I put some miles on teh new 09 before I decided which way to go, to my plesant suprised the 09 UC bars fit perfect, no pain and perfectly comfortable on 500 mile rides, as comfortable as the heritage bars were on the RKC.

 

If youare looking at different bars I recommend the Khrome Werks Sweepers +2 which work grat on the touring bikes with fairings. All you need to install these is a +3 or 4 clutch cable. Lots of guys here are running those bars including myself.
