RamDez, while enjoying the great weather in the Tucson area. and before heading up into the high country of Flagstaff, here's an excellent ride through some "cowboy" country that you should give a try, time permitting. It'll take you to Tombstone, Bisbee (old copper mining area), Elgin (wine country - yes, in Arizona), through Sonoita hill country and back to Tucson - about a 200 mile loop.
Have a great trip - hope I see you on the road.

Hello RamDez,
You can ride down most of Main Street in tombstone, however they do have about 3 blocks of it blocked off for the horses and street "shoot outs". You can ride right up to Main and park near the OK Corral, and the original newspaper and gun shops, just as interesting as Main with the old saloons, etc. - everything is original from the Wyatt Earp days, with the exception of all the stores selling the standard tourist trap stuff!!

I second that, tombstone is one of my favorite rides. Push on down to Bisbee is real cool too!

Last year we had a group from Chicago there for AZ bike week and we headed to Flagstaff and spent the night, when we left in the morning the temp was 22 at 8am.
but it was a dry 22 and not bad at all. At 10am the temp was 45and we were heading down the east side of the state RT 191 to Safford. What a GREAT RIDE. Just be careful and watch out for loose gravel. Enjoy your trip and safe travels.

My brother and I went last May from Tombstone all the way up to the Grand Canyon. We ended up running into snow in the elevations. Not sure if this is the norm there but it didn't keep us from moving on. Hope this helps. Good luck and enjoy your trip. If the roads allow you to see Jerome and Sedona, I highly recomend them.
I flew out to Phoenix 2 years ago to spend sometime with family, I packed up my Uncles Heritage and took off for a couple days, By far the best ride I have ever done!! Jerome and Sedona HIGHLY recommended! Pack extra gear though I woke up in Flagstaff to 38 degrees, with no helmet and only fingerless gloves! froze my *** off till I came back down the hill.

You're going to find some shops in Tombstone that have the best assortment of pins and badges for your vest/jacket. Have fun...we were there last June and had a blast.

I live in Flagstaff and the weather here in March/April is very unpredictable. Bring layers of clothing, you will be adjusting regularly. If we do have snow it usually doesn't last very long. It can be 20 in the morning and 50's by mid morning. If you are staying in Flagstaff, I would recommend the Best Western Pony Soldier. They have a canopy they allow you to park under. A real pain to wake up to inches of snow on your bike. Don't plan on hitting the roads to early in the AM, frost on the roads in the shade can be extremely dangerous. I would make sure you have some extra time to allow for a storm to blow over if needed. Don't forget the Sunscreen, the air up here is extremely thin, doesn't take long to get a burn from the sun. The good news is there some great riding up here for visitors with some great wide open scenery!!! Ride Safe!!!!!!
