I'm also a lucky resident of east TN. We've got the Great Smokies,Cherohala Skyway,
Dragon,Cherokee NC, Helen GA,BlueRidge Parkway,Nantahala River,Ocoee River. I could
keep going, but that would just be rubbing it in to all you unlucky people that don't live
in the best riding country in the US,east TN.

Believe it our not Southern Indiana has some great riding experiences awaiting us. Once you get about 50 miles south of Indy, the corn fields turn into rolling hills, national forests and lakes and some of the curviest roads that don't continuously slow you down to a stop like mountain switch backs.
Then there is the fantastic scenery and venue along the Ohio river basin as well. Its about 110 miles from Indy to the Ohio river and about 150-170 miles across the State
If you cross the Ohio river into Kentucky, you enter the real foothills of the Mountains with all kinds of additional great riding.

From Portland, Or. within 150 miles you have the Coast, Coast Range Mountains, The Willamette Valley, The Cascade Mountains, Desert, Lakes, Rivers. Lots of back road twisties with many places and things to see and do along the way. Which way do you want to go? Pretty much anywhere is scenic and you can get away from the maddening crowd easily.

Since I live in central Ohio, 150 miles will get me almost everywhere in the state. Going east will get me into Pennsylvania at the 120 mile mark. Head out going west and I will hit the Indiana line at the 117 mile mark. Kentucky is only 95 mikes away for me. If I head north to lake Erie I hit water in Sandusky at the 112 mile mark.
The roads and terrain is everything from rolling hills in the south and east to flat farm lands in the north and west. All you have to do is pick what sounds good that day and take off.
