Well, Tuck, its like this... south Arkansas can be beautiful, and the roads nice and twisty, but our particular county takes the cheap approach to road maintenance and every so often re-paves with pea gravel and tar. It's one of the few counties that do it, and it pisses everybody off when they start doing it in the spring/summer.
Once you get beyond our county, for any REAL riding, you gotta go northwest toward Hot Springs and the Ouachita Mountains. That's where things get interesting and fun. Further north of the I-40 "parallel" you get into the Ozarks and they can be a blast, but it takes a good 3 hours to get there from here.
South of here in Louisiana, some roads are fun, some treacherous, and you gotta watch for the small-town cops. No offense to my LA buddies, heck... I bought my bike down there and love to go back from time to time.

Silverstone, you do indeed have some great places to ride over there. The Harrogate and North Yorkshire areas are beautiful.
My ex is from Leeds, I loved to tour around while over there.

BTW...My sig-pic was taken up in Scotland, not far from Loch Ness. The monster stuck his head up out of the water and everybody thought we were brothers.

I can't complain, not a straight road within 150 miles of me. Well, there is Oklahoma but who wants to ride there...

Oh man............I've been everywhere within 150 miles many, many, many times but for those who haven't rode Nor Cal.....

Sacramento.....is about 20' above sea level but 80 miles east it's over 7,500' elevation. 80 miles west is the bay area.....100 miles west is the Pacific Ocean and Hwy. 1. 130 miles south west is Monterey and Carmel. 150 miles southwest is Big Sur. 100 miles south east is Yosemite National Park. 150 miles northwest is the California Redwoods.....the oldest and largest living thing on earth!

We ride year around........I guess our biggest problem is trying to figure out "where are we going this weekend?".

We are very, very fortunate and that's why it cost so damn much to live here. Gotta be a down side to something so nice.
