150 miles one way, huh?

Beartooth Pass
Chief Joseph Highway
Yellowstone Park
Little Big Horn National Monument (the place where Custer and the boys discovered that there is a huge difference between good recon and bad recon)
Beartooth Mountain Range
Big Horn Mountain Range
Crazy Mountains
Pryor Mountains
Castle Mountains
Big Horn River (premier fly fishing)
and on and on.............

And no need to ride interstate to get to any of it. Yeah, we're a little spoiled, but it's a decent trade off for a 7 month riding season.

Flatlands and Mennonite country here Sounds very simular to my local scene. All what you make of it, eh?

Just east of San Diego we have local mountains with great riding, and the town of Julian for an apple pie stop. A little to the north we have Idyllwild and Big Bear Mt. And if it's too hot inland, PCH for a ride up the coast.

Mass NH border six miles from the ocean, from there head north and take in the seacoast up thru maine! The worst part is when we have to stop and have lobstah or something like that. Yeah we like it!

My favourite is from Harrogate over the North Yorkshire moors to Saltburn on the East coast, down the coast road to Whitby,Scarborugh,Robin Hoods Bay then back inland, across the Wolds to York then home in time for tea.Jolly good show!

The Blue Ridge Parkway is basically in my backyard. Blue Ridge & Appalachian Mountains surround my home. Beautiful curvy roads. Great riding, beautiful scenery & lots of fun & memories made here.

Default Great River Road

Looks like a lot of riders in the western and eastern areas of the country. I'll chime in with a plug for any riding along the Mississippi River from SW WI to Red Wing, MN. Being in La Crosse, I can go north or south and have a great ride. The best part is, you can go on either side of the river for a different experience. The MN side going north lends itself to small river towns and the terrain is relatively flat north of Winona. Cross the river at Red Wing and head south along the WI side....great views of the river! Spring rides lend themselves to eagle watching while fall rides are great to take in the colors along the bluffs. The ride south is great as well, cross at Prairie du Chein or at Dubuque and then head north along the Iowa, MN side and you'll be amazed at the views. No, its not the mountains of the west, or east, but that's what makes it its own. For shorter rides, I head east out of La Crosse through the valleys and farmland...hard to beat it!

The best way to show the good rides within a 150mi. radius of me is to go to Road-Quest.com and take a look. The guy that owns the site rides a lot and rates and maps different routes. He also rates the food along the way. He doesn't ride a Harley but he isn't a snob. Those in NW Washington should check the web site out if you are interested in some nice rides. No I'm not affiliated with the site in any way.
