Default Anyone using the Cee Bailey SSC Shield

I've been trying to see if anyone is using this shield but the thread will not open for some reason. I really like the idea of the lip design and also because it's different than most shields for the FLHT and since I ride at night I figured this would help. I'm keeping the stock shield for the fall months and I may cut it myself since I see theres directions on this forum. Thanks again for the help.

I am about to order one myself, but I am confused about what size to get. I ride a 2006 SE-Ultra and I am 6' tall. I am getting a Zeppelin seat put on today. I currently have a 9" HD windshield, and it is about an inch or two too low. I want to easily see over the windshield, but there is just too much wind and buffetting with this 9" shield. I am thinking of getting a 13" or 14" SSC. Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

Look a little further down the list on this touring forum for further discussion on the SSC.

I just installed the 12 SSC last night, so far I am very impressed. The look is going to take some getting used to, but it works as advertised! Very functional. I am very pleased with it. I am 6'2" and the wind goes right over my head no buffeting. I haven't rode with a helmet yet, so I will post tommorrow regarding any helmet buffeting.

I put the ten inch on last night and it works great. I had the twelve and it was a bit to tall for me. These things work!!!

Do these winshields still allow you to have the 3-pouch windshield bag above the dash??

Thanks for the opinion on the shield since I was looking to get the 9" or the 11". I also like the pic you posted since it really shows what it looks like installed since sometimes it's really hard to know exactly what the bike will look like. I'm 6' 2" and the stock shield is way too high and I hate to look thru the shield. I'm going to order one this week due to the lead time and I've got some longer rides next month planned. Thanks again for the help

I did a review on the SSC a while back. Here's a link to the thread.

Update, well I have put 400 miles on this shield and I am still very impressed. No helmet buffeting at all. I will say to the manufacturers of these that the mount cutouts at that bottom are a little oversized. It takes a little playing with to cover them up. It's not really a big deal, I just expected tighter tolerances. Once it's lined up and torqued down it's not an issue. Funtionally I rate these a 10, cosmetically I am still waiting for the "look" to grow on me. All in all it's a great product and performs as advertised.
