A couple weeks ago I posted a thread regarding the purchase of a '09 SE RG.

Dealer had orange/black ordered.
Insured they could change color to the silver/titanium that I love.
Went to dealer on Monday after days of pondering.
Sat down, wrote the deal, stroked a check for the deposit.

Start shooting breeze with GM.
He says, "I don't think CVO's can be changed after ordering"
I told him, "That's the only color I want. Salesman guaranteed it could be changed. I don't want the bike in any other color."
So he gets on the phone, calls HD...sure enough, colors can't be changed on CVO models.

Anyway, it was mine...then it wasn't.
And I was so looking forward to that FREE t-shirt!

 

Is the search still on? I'll keep my eye out for you. You're not gonna sell yours, are you? That thing is too nice to get rid of.

Fairplay, if you were told they could get color changed, WRONG! Better have them call HD to verify.

jcbpa, HD has a new computer system. All models show that they can be changed. They didn't write a program showing CVO's can't. Salesman assumed it could, I guess.

Thanks for the clarification... I was in sales for years, and it drives me nuts when guys don't know what they are selling. If it's the MOCO's fault, that stinks. Glad you asked the question.

 

That sucks I hope the GM schooled the salesguy.

 

C'mon piggy your great with the wrenches just get a RG and make it better than the SE. you can do it and it will probably be cheaper and better. Thats where half the fun is.... right. good luck
