I've been thinking about putting some ape's on my RK I've been looking at the 18 in chubbys and the 19 in boulebars. For those of you who have ape's or those who had ape's, what are the pro's and con's, the likes, dislikes, or regrets?

First check to see if 18's are legal in your state. 18's are a bit extreme unless you are tall. Take a look at 12 - 16's before you jump into this.

I'm 6-9 and have 13", and they are very comfy. Could have gone with 16"s but not any taller.I have them on my EGC and they are above the fairing, the 16's would have been way above. I didn't think they would look good behind a batwing. The 16's would look great on a RK. Just my .02

I tried out my new 13" Cyclesmiths on my SG the other day for the first time. Extremely comfortable. I have talked with others that have 16" bars on SG's and they said they wish they had gone with the 13". I don't think a RK will be much different. I didn't put them on until I rode a bike with the bars to see how they felt to me.

I have 14's and they are extremely comfortable. Most people go with 14's or 16's.

Im 5'7" and ran 16" apes on my RK. I logged some serious mileage with those bars which I found to be extremely comfortable. If you going strictly for attitude then go as high as you can within reason, if your also wanting to tie function into it then I would recommend the height of your bars not to exceed your shoulders.
