Default Vance and Hines Glass Packing

I pulled the baffles out and the right side pipe already had 1/3 of the packing gone. I just got rid of all the packing. They don't sound as low as they used to but a little louder. Here is the question.. Don't bother re-packing or just removing the baffles all together. Just thinking out loud..

I used to go with loud. But I really now like deep rumble. Loud and deep is good in my opinion.
Why don't you check it out both ways. Repack it and see how it sounds, then remove the baffles and see how it sounds. Go with what ever sounds best to you.

Everything I have read says dont run without the baffles. You may end up with some blueing on the muffler if you do. I repacked my Rush slipons a couple of weeks ago. They are back to where they were before, a bit deeper, and just a bit quieter.

Same here. 2/3 right pipe gone so i just pulled it out both. I do see a light gold spot on right pipe in the middle but it was there before i pulled out the rest of the packing so it was too late for me. I will keep the baffles in. Hope it gets worse so i can sell the house banker on something new.

I pretty much decided to keep the baffles in and leaving the packing out. Just don't want to hassle with repacking them every couple of months.

I'd leave them in and repack.

Many law enforcement agencies are cracking down on bikes with no baffles.

I found after about 10,000 miles that about 2/3 of the packing from my right muffler was gone and about 1/4 of the left muffler was gone. I have since gone to the fullsac true dual set-up and am hoping that it will not be as hard on the wrapping due to the new flow set-up.

I did end up with some light yellowing on the right muffler after a hot day and a long high speed run on the interstate last summer. I am guessing that the wrap was shot by then.

I always have some down time in the winter due to weather and winter mods, so as long as rush keeps sending me free wrapping, I dont mind spending an hour doing it.
