If you like it and it works, that's cool. I think another place would be better. However that is the original question?????

Ya know, technically it's a great spot. But it don't sound like you are in love w it. One of those, "yah, this works great but 2 weeks later it's gone" kind of ideas.

I agree. I've seen them hung on the back of the passenger's backrest and they looked pretty good.

You shouldn't have put I like pie as a possible answer, I couldn't go back after seeing that.

W/ regard to your situation, If you like keeping the regular saddle bags clear, and tourpack clear, etc., maybe you should consider those saddle bag guard bags? There needs to be a better name for those things. I always thought those look good especially on bikes w/ leather bags anyway, it kind of blends in. The one w/out the water bottle holder is actually fairly spacious from I can tell. Don't know if your whole tool bag would drop right in there, and I'm sure you're looking for a way to use this particular bag, but through it was worth a mention.

It looks ok there, but it just doesn't seem right to me, but maybe I'd feel different seeing it in person...

Check this site out. I think I'm gonna get one here pretty quick. Look for them on ebay also. You can get them cheaper on ebay than off of his site.

I had a honda once that had shaft drive. I mounted a tool bag on the shaft. Needless to say, I like what you did. Different than what most do.
