Clearview recurve??????
#11
Got a couple hundred miles on my 8"light tint.I really could not be happier. My bars feel more agile and radio is clearer. My sight plane is like way over the shield edge which is like not having a screen(5-11") but still getting better protection than the stock storm door.Peripheral head buffeting is reduced as well as buzzing around my head.I got light tint because I thought I would look thru it more in parking lots etc or in the rain.Dark tint would be okay as it is just so much lower.
John sold me 2 screens,a 6.5" and an 8" for trial.I put on the 8" and it was love at first sight.Maybe the 6.5 would have worked but I got what I wanted with the 8".
The Clearview looks great on the bike from all angles, giving it a custom flair.
When I purchased mine they were on sale,I mean really on sale.
BTW my first day the wind here in the RGV was 30 to 45mph.I got right to the freeway and jousted with the 18 wheelers.I felt more confident and safer.
hope this helps,
Terry

I'm really glad to hear that as I have an 08 SG and just ordered the 8" smoked recurve myself. They said it would be 2-4 weeks which should give me pleanty of time to get it on before the riding season kicks in up here in Ohio. I currently have a 6 1/2" on my bike (nothing custom) and it's good but I think for my height (same as yours at 5'10"), the 8" will work best.

I read this on one of the windshield websites and it worked really good for me.
Start off with a windshield that is too tall for you to look over. Put a piece of masking tape across the windshield at say 10" above the fairing. Go for a ride. If you are looking at the tape, it's too tall. Lower it an inch or so and go for another ride. Keep doing this until you are looking over that piece of tape and it isn't distracting you at all.
Now measure from the top of the fairing to the top of the tape. Get this height windshield with a re-curve and you will have maximum wind protection in a windshield you can look over instead of through.
