Just bough the joints on Ebay for 8.90 delivered...figured I did OK for the piece of mind it will give me...and if i geta better feel for shifting...a plus...
Great thread...I never woulda thought of this mod on my own..til it broke !

Did mine when I first got the bike. I don't think it is a placebo effect ..........the bike does shift better!!

My OEM ball/cuff joint linkage failed recently. I tied it together with cloth and finished the ride.

Came home and ordered a $7 ebay heim joint kit; re-used the OEM rod. Took fifteen minutes to do the change. Best $7 I've spent in a long time - shifting is much more positive.
