HDRider2002:

As Dawg stated, you can't go wrong with the H-D lifters. Would also recommend the new SE Adjustable Pushrods, #18404-08. This combo worked perfectly in my recent upgrade.

Be absolutely sure that your installer checks the pushrods for anodizing flash in the passageways. Regardless of which brand you purchase.

For the best price and service you'll find anywhere, contact HerkoBagger (John) here:

Good luck!

BTW, don't overlook getting the new push rod covers you will need as the stock ones don't work with the adjustable pushrods.

Anodizing flash is an issue if the rods are Aluminum. It's from the anodizing process (like plating is to steel).

There's a set that does, and I purchased them, but if I could do it over, I'd rather get the better SE set (look like they might be made by Andrews or Jim's?) and buy the covers. The set that comes with the covers had coarse threads as compared to the better set, and only4 wrench flats on the rod not six like the better set. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but adjusting the ones with 4 flats was a bit of a PITA as far as getting at them with an open end wrench. The coarse threads bothered me because the Hydrosolids I installed have a lot less preload on them, and it's harder to adjust the coarse threads as precisely as a fine threaded rod would have been.

Just my .02, YMMV.

Both kits include the covers, the pics in the catalog just doesn't show it. The difference as you stated other than the obvious taper is the difference of a 24p and 32p thread count

O-ring, pushrod cover, upper (4) 11293
O-ring, pushrod cover, lower (4) 11145
O-ring, pushrod cover, middle (4) 11132

18404-08 includes:

Dawg, or any else "in the know" can you tell me if the new Hydraulic Cam plate upgrade comes with new tensioner shoes, or do they still need to be purchased seperately? If they do need to be purchased seperately, are they the same shoes as the old version?
