I've only used the Dunlops on mine and have always gotten excellent wear from them. As you stated, they were good enough to go on the scoots from the factory so they are good enough to go back on as replacemets for me !!

I just replaced the stock Dunlops with the HD approved Michelin. Night and day difference. The Dunlops would/////// track the grooves on the freeway, the Michelins don't even know they're there. I like the Michelin's a whole lot.//////////////

+1 I am going to the e3's. they are suppose to get better tire life and no wander on steel bridges.

I stay with the stock stuff. Last just as long but maybe a bit more noise when leaning.

I am very hard on tires. Not from burnouts or braking, but from hard accelerating and engine braking.

I went through three dunlops on my heritage and one on the rear of my SG. I switched to Michelin commanders on front and rear of my SG. The traction is much better. The bike holds the road better, especially on wet roads. It sticks better in the twisties also.

I was expecting the life to be shorter because the tires are softer. I now have more miles on my commander rear tire than a rear tire has ever lasted me and it is about half worn out.

A friend of mine who rides very aggressive has an 07 SG. We switched bikes one day so he could see how he liked my windshield. All he could rave about was how much better my 08 handled in the curves than his 07 did. He asked me if I knew what changes they made between 07 and 08 to make such a difference. I told him it was the tires and he didn't believe me. He says next time he needs tires he will try the commanders to know for sure.

I replaced the Dunlops at 12k. Should have done it sooner, they sucked!

I ran the stock 402's on my 07EGC to 14,500 miles and relaced both with ME880's. I found the the metzlers did not run the track as much and had much better traction in the turns. I doubt that the Metzler 880 will run over 10,000 miles before needing replaced though.
