+1 on the The Slime Power Sport Tire inflator.

Small, lightweight and doesn't cost 3 arms and 4 legs!

Default Slime comp - $20.00

We were running back to Florida last year when one of our Riders got a flat in the rear. We plugged it and I used the compressor to refill. Pumped it up no problem. Unfortunately the hole was large so the plug blew out again further south. I think we had to stop and plug about four times until we could get to a HD Dealer to get a new tire. The compressor is powerful. Don't bother with the fairing mounted one. Waste of money. $168.00 will buy you a Wally World compressor and a spare tire!
I would like a reccommendation on the best plug kit? No point in having a compressor if you can't plug the hole!

If you have a big enough cut then nothings gonna plug it. I have tire plug kit and co2 cartridges. I had to use the kit when I got a screw in my rear tire . Tire was pretty new so I plugged it and ran on it until it was worn out. I think I paid about $15 for the kit. I think that kit paid for itself big time.

I'm not a fan of adding more weight on the fairing. With all the mods I see going under that thing, its a wonder we can turn the darn things. I like that CO2 kit.

I think this is major overkill and too expensive. You can get a small air pump at Wal-Mart for $10, and the $5 pump I bought from them 4-5 years ago on sale has bailed by butt out twice already on the road. I keep it in my saddlebag at all times.

In this case I think the worry is reasonable. I've had two punctures on the road in the past three years that would've left me stranded had I not had my $5 Wal-Mart pump on board. If you get a puncture you can plug it, then pump the tire back up, and you're up and running again. This is invaluable and I won't go out of my driveway without a small pump on board. In fact, after seeing how compact the Sime pump is I may buy one and carry it as a backup. Or, buy the $6 HF pump if it is small enough.

Of course if you have laced wheels you can't be saved in this manner.
