Cam chain tensioners
Whats the easiest way to check the cam chain tensioners on my 01 Ultra?

Take the cam cover off and look at the outer one. Use a dental mirror and flashlight to see most of the inner one to give you an idea of it's shape.

the hardest part of that is takeing the exaust pipes off

Just curious as to how many miles you have on them? Changed mine out at 18,000 on my Road King and they were pitted bad

Mine went 40k and only changed because the dealer recommended we inspect them since they usually need replacement at 20k in his opinion. Well the outer was still fine but the inner was worn. Nice because it was covered by the extended warranty.

A little over 27k, just got it and wanted to check to make sure everything is right.
