Default To ABS or Not To ABS..is the question

Im debating whether or not to have my dealer change my order to have ABS on it. Im not sure what kind of riding I will do in the future or how far Ill go but my thought was the rest I can have installed at any time. The ABS is a one shot deal. I never rode a bike with it.

Your thoughts from those with ABS and not?

Not only has this topic been beaten to death this is the same name as another topic in the top few pages of the touring area.

I also asked it a few months ago. Buy it because you will never regret not getting it until its too late.

I have an 08 Ultra with ABS. It has activated a couple times during a hard stop which saved my A.. My thought is this, why not have it and not need it then to not have it and need it. I hear about too many riders that go down because some cage pulled out in front of them.
BTW, my buddy is way old school and started in with the "I have been riding for 40yrs.....", he ended up getting a new Ultra with ABS. When he picked up the bike, he was riding home and a deer jumped out right in front of him. He was able to stop and he is now a believer.

My line of thinking at the time of purchase was that if it saves me once, paid in full. I also feel that it will be the norm someday rather than an option and folks will want it when looking for a used bike.

Get it for yourself, get it for your passenger. If you never use it, you'll never even know you have it. After wathching the DVD that comes with it, i'm convinced there is NO way you could stop this quick on dry, wet or gravel pavement without it.

I used it today in a real close call.
Now I am a believer and a advocate for ABS.

Listen brother, it's not even a question. Just do it, and you can worry about the issues later.
