I don't think ABS is even offered on anything but the touring models, seems like the around town bikes would need it more. Maybe they figure in the different conditions the touring bikes encounter.
You know, that's a damn good point. Do they just wanna protect the rich bagger drivers or what?
Just kidding, but I'd never actually thought of that before.
Even though my incoming FLHR has ABS I plan to practice enough that I can panic stop right on the edge of ABS kicking in. ABS is no substitute for skill.
Just ask 7 time Forumla 1 Champion Michael Schumacher about ABS. One reason he was so good is that they came up with brake control (ABS) and throttle control systems for his Ferrari. It made it so easy to drive they are talking about take it out now, if they haven't already. Sure does make it a hell of a lot easier to drive/ride when you can get on the brakes knowing that traction will not be lost. So if the bike has the option, I am getting it.
