Get it - It is a major safety item that may save your bacon one day.
Having said that - it is not a substitute for a well practiced emergency braking technique. Your rear tire can still slip out from under you in a turn or curve on questionable pavement for instance.
My line of thinking at the time of purchase was that if it saves me once, paid in full. I also feel that it will be the norm someday rather than an option and folks will want it when looking for a used bike.
The first sentence is very profound! After riding a bike with ABS and experiencing it first hand at an intersection where I had the stop sign and the road was covered with a light sand.......it's not even a question for me any longer.
From this point forward, every bike I buy will have it....or that bikes not an option!
Just curious to see how many of you with ABS bikes have another one without it. I'd be afraid of just stomping the brake on the other bile...
Even though my incoming FLHR has ABS I plan to practice enough that I can panic stop right on the edge of ABS kicking in. ABS is no substitute for skill.
