Probably just your dealer doing a few burn outs, a couple of wheelies and letting his buddy take it for a rip before you get there.

 

Hey 7125. You're a local and I know that you've been to Charlotte HD and Pat Rodgers. I've bought a bike from both. Charlotte does a 7 mile lap after dealer assembly and Pat does a 9 mile lap. It's the same trip for all bikes. It's just to shake them down and make sure they didn't forget to tighten something. Maybe see you around someday. Just look for the RG with the mule eatin briars on it

 

Mine had 4.8 mi. on it. back in the day......when they of bikes with the S&S motors..CMC, Indian and others, ..them would be delivered with 50 mi. on em, as the S&S factory spec mandated 1st 50 mi. @ 50 mph, period! now there would be a fine summer job for a college guy/gal. "I busted my a$$ @ work today,...."

 

Worked 4 years for a BMW motorcycle dealer and one of my duties was to test ride new motorcycles. We put 10 miles on each and every bike as soon as it was uncrated and prepped. We got each bike up to operating temp and made sure everything was working and working properly. When a customer bought a new bike, it was ready to roll.

 

Mine had 0.0 miles.....:>)...actually I have no idea as to the mileage when I left the dealer but it had about 300 on it when I got home...about 30 miles away...I took the 'scenic route'....:>)

 

I am putting in an application for test rider at the local dealership! What a job!!!

 

Mine had 1 mile on it 6 Aug 08 when I picked it up. It now has 15000. I ride a little bit.

 

I got my 08 Ultra off the floor with 3Mi on it.

 

6 on my '02 Sporty, 11 on my '06 RKC and 14 on my '09 Ultra. My mechanic makes sure all's well before I signed the dotted line.
