Theres a wire under the fairing by the headlight wire. I think it has a red cap on it and that is what HD uses when they install their GPS. It is on a switched circuit.

Shrink's got the right idea, or at least on the '07's there's a spare set of wires tied off to the headlight harness just waiting to be plugged in.
If memory serves, the Zumo's got an inline fuse so you're all set. Just take the front of the batwing off and you're home free.
PM me if you need more info on how I installed mine.

I just bought a cigarette lighter connector and wired the Zumo into that and plugged that into the cigarette lighter socket.

Works great but when I get the front fairing off I'll wire it up there.

It really depends on what you want to do. I don't use the Zumo for riding back and forth to work. I don't want wires or empty cradles on my bike when it's not in use. I just used the stock RAM mount it came with, and stuck a cig lighter adaptor on the end of the wire. When I remove it all that's left on the bike is the ball mount. I only have to loosen two bolts if I want to take that off.

I wired mine to the back of the cigarette lighter - directly to it's terminals. Switches off when ignition is turned off. Very easy.

I got a GREAT wiring harness from Cyclegadgets.com hides near invisible, hooks up to the back of the lighter with pigtails and has connectors for other applications like radar or blue tooth cell, good stuff
