Default avons are superior

I got 9300 miles from the original dunlops on my 02 road glide. My Avon tires now have 15000 miles and are good for one more year. I ride 3000 miles per year. I love the way I am able to corner w/ these Avons. Yes I do scrape alot on turns but that is another issue. I will always purchase Avons.

I rode Avon venom x on my fatboy for nearly 40k miles. Nothing better imo, although I have not tried the metz. On a fatboy, I got fine mileage from Avon, around 12-14k rear and 17-19k front. Mileage probably worse with a large touring bike, but i have not yet needed to replace the stock tires on the ultra I bought this summer. Plan to try the metz.

I'm at 62,000 miles.
I use Avon Venoms.
I get about 10k on a rear and about twice that on a front.
I'll stick with them.

I've always run Dunlops on my Harleys. They wear and perform well. They are made in Buffalo, NY.

I run AVON COBRA tires, 21 front and 18x200 rear. The front is a bias ply the rear is a radial. Any softer rubber compound tire will wear faster, that is why it is sticky or gives better traction especially in the wet, ITS SOFTER! I like the look, tread pattern, and ride including traction properties of the Cobras. Mileage is hard to determine as we all ride on different roads and different loads. I have also run Metz but the AVONS had a higher load rating for the wheel/tire combo I was running. I will continue to run the AVONS on my current bike without any regrets or worries. With the old OEM Dunlops, Metz 880s, and now Avons, my rear tire all wore out around 7500-9500, no burnouts. Fronts last at least 15-18k. I never run either of them down to the wear bars! The newer Dunlops are dual compound, soft on the edges, hard in the center. They do last longer that softer compounds but wet traction is not as good IMHO!
