Default California models, Anyone change out the header?

I was wondering if anyone has changed out their restrictive California header for a non-California one. Also, did you notice any difference?

Would like to but not going to pay Harley's price. Might wait until there's some used ones floating around.

The head pipes. CA versions have a honey-comb style catalytic converters in them. Apparently makes it so that the bikes meet the more-stringent CA EPA requirements. However, I don't know if they are detrimental to performance at all.

Modern catalytic converters add very little if any real restriction to exaust flow over all... some will say diffrent of course.

Take Care,

I can't say for sure that they are restrictive, but I have to ask myself if removing the cat version of the pipes might make it run cooler... The concept behind catalytic converters is that the platinum inside gets hot and burns off excess fuel before it leaves the pipe... Hence no cat no hot spot....like under my seat.... The cats on your car are the hottest part of you cars exhaust, stands to reason.... and a slightly free'r flow might be realized....
