Default 09 heat

I have an 09 Ultra with 4000 miles on it. I have noticed on occasion that my right leg at the back side of the knee gets warm . The strange thing is that I notice this even at highway speeds. At an idle you expect this , but not at speed. The bike is a great improvement over my 06 Ultra in all ways, except for this. I never noticed any heat on my right leg on the 06 unless I was going slow or stopped at a light on a hot day.

Glad too hear more about the "switch" cause all I have heard before that is people talking about the high temps without mention of this option. What year did they start to do this, I believe I heard someone here that mentioned an 06 had it.

Does anyone know of a retrofit for an 03??

Thanks

I know this is an old thread but I found it useful as I had no clue my '09 UC had the EITMS. As far as heat goes... I haven't seen anyone post about adding after market oil coolers to their bikes to help with that. When I lived in Phoenix I discovered very quickly how hot a bike can get when stuck in stop and go traffic. You could feel the difference in how the engine was running it was getting so hot. Now mind you that I had a '99 Electra Glide Classic with a stage 2, 95 inch big bore kit, 10 - 1 pistons and Andrews TW-50 cams along with a PC2 to keep it tuned right. To fight the heat I installed 2 JAG oil coolers on the front down tubes of the frame and ran them in series. Over heating problems solved! In the cooler weather I put some covers over the oil coolers that a buddy of mine made for me. Here's a couple pics of how they looked installed.
