Default 2009 SE 110 engine

Anyone know if harley has fixed the problems with the 110 SE engines? All the info I find says that there were head gasget, liner and oil leak issues with the 07 and early 08 models. I sure don't want to spend that kind of $ and buy a problem.

All 2009 100" SE motors have the fix already from the factory.

A friend I ride with bought a SE 110 Ultra. When he took it in for his first service They told him that all the recalls has already been done. He is very happy with it

The current issue of American Iron has an article about the issue. After reading the article I wouldn't be confident about the 110".

I should have added this to my initial response:

I was considering an SE UC last Fall. I too had questions about the 110" motor; talked with the Service Manager and the GM at my local HD dealer. They told me that the '07 / '08 models did have an issue, but MoCo had issued a TSB to fix that problem. All '09 bikes with the 110" motor had the fix built in at the factory.

After a lot of mulling things over and the damn economy going south, I opted to by an '09 UC and do a 103 Stage III instead. Darn near the same HP/Torque without so much of the fuel mileage hit.

I would not buy that engine. I had a 2007 SE Springer and I loved that engine and tranny, but it's not worth the potential problems

Koala: not to Hijack, but My bike is going in at the end of Feb for a build. got the slot already, just have to decide what build.
what do you think of the stage III? That is my first choice, as I don't want to split the cases

Trippie,
I don't have my new scoot yet, but my local dealer has had a number of folks do the 103 Stage III, and the Dyno results I've see tell me that for the vast majority of riding I'll be doing here (Colorado, UT, WY, SD, AZ, etc), the bike will be in its prime torque / HP band.

There's a member who I've been talking to over in the CVO threads who has one and he loves it!!

Yeah, I also noticed you were in Denver.... Odds are that even if you had it, it would be doing the same as mine..trying to stay warm..
My dealer said it would be his first III and doesn't have much first hand knowledge of how people like it. But, I'll clean the heads up too, see what I can get. I've got some stupid goal of getting the front wheel up in the first couple gears... but want to stay at 103" and SE parts...
Thanks
