lots of answers to this question, if you ride solo and get your feet on the ground you will be fine. riding with a passenger is a whole different matter on the e/glide with a challenged inseam. options are many, reach seat avail from HD, lowering kits for rear shocks are cheap and plentifull on e bay. steet glide may be a good choice for you. is lower out of the box and tour pack high weight not an additional concern

I'm 5'7" and ride a RK which I think is the same height with no problems. With motorcycle boots with a nice heal, I wear Chippewa, I have no problems and my feet are flat. I also ride, short distances, with tennis shoes and have no problems. The trick is when you put your feet on the ground point your toes away from the bike instead of in the same direction. You feel your thighs grip the side of the seat and your entire leg holds the bike up not just your weak ankles. I'm on the ***** of my feet in tennis shoes without any problems. Big difference when a passenger gets on the bike also. It's so much easier to keep the bike upright when they get onboard.

5'7 w/ a 28" inseam I had SG shocks put on my '03 RK.
Now I can flatfoot w/ my HD boots..a bit higher sole and heel.
I have the HD pillow touring seat..which I believe is a bit thicker.

I'm also 5'8" with a 30" inseam. When I bought my '08 egc I put the Street Glide rear shocks on it immediately and can flat foot it with any shoes including tennis shoes. Backing it up is no problem.

I'm 5'8" with 28" inseam..I have a 07 EGC. I went with a Sun downer seat and that has help a lot, I can flatfoot the bike.
The 09 UC is a lot taller with the new tire in front, I would have to have it lowered on the 09 model...but that's doable, don't let it stop you.

Senor Juan is correct... the WIDER frame on the 09' is the problem... seat height is the same

I'm another short old fart...5ft 8 30in inseam, I was fine on my RG with the comfort stitch seat... I've played around some, and I like the REACH seat I have on it currently

I can flat foot the bike with sneakers, OR boots

I'm 5'6" with a 28" inseam and I handle my 07 fine. I did lower the rear 1" when I put the taller Mustang seat on it.
