Thumbs up

I just started riding at the end of September and was determined to keep on
riding throughout the Virginia winter to get the practice I needed.
I picked up the Gerbing liner,G3 gloves and dual controller.I have been confortably
warm down to 35F on 200 mile outings.
If you do go with the Gerbings make sure you use thier sizing chart. The liner should be a
snug fit so the heating elements are close to your skin.

I am usually okay with my leathers down to the low thirties, but my wife is another story. On a ride to Oregon one year it got down to the low thirties and she was not a happy rider, stopped by the HD in Bend and got her a heated liner and she enjoyed the rest of the trip and many more since.

You guys cost me soooo much money it isn't even funny. Ok, the line I will use on the wife this time will be - "Which is cheaper, moving to a warmer climate or buying heated clothes"? hehe

I've got the Tourmaster Synergy heated jacket liner. For about $165 you can't beat it.
Gerbins makes good products but they're more expensive.

The wife and I have the socks, pant liner, jacket liner, and gloves, not a problem running both sets with separate power cords on the 08 UC. It has made it possible to ride many of those blue bird sky, cold as heck days. Like I said the sock are the bomb, if your feet are cold you are miserable, with the socks you can ride feet on the highway pegs and a stupid grin. It is like wrapping an electric blanket around you as you ride.

Hey Turtleman, if my math is right, the setup with yourself and wife is pulling 29 to 35.2 amps or 330 to 446 watts.

Jacket liner: 6.4-7.8 amps, 77-107 watts
Pant liner: 4.5-5.4 amps, 44-62 watts
Gloves: 1.8-2.2 amps, 22-27 watts
Socks: 1.8-2.2 amps, 22-27 watts

The owner's manual doesn't put the altenator output in the specifications. Instead gives some lame BS about talking to your dealer to see if your accessory list is ok. Do you know the actual output of the altenator? Wish I had a service manual handy. My wife and I are thinking of the same setup ... just want to make sure of the power drain.

Did a better search, looks like the altenator puts out about 540 watts. All that gear's not leaving much juice for everything else.
