I thought about this also but worry about someone saying I got a scratch or swirl marks on their paint but obviously you have experience w the public and detailing. What products do you use? I think you would waste alot of time going to folks house or going and picking up their bike, but for a price some may be willing and there are those rainy days.

I think if you set up a tent outside of a biker bar and offered the service you would get a good response. Locally we have a pin striper that sets up at a popular bar most every weekend during the summer and does great business. Otherwise, you'd have to come to my house 'cuz you ain't taken my bike nowhere.

I would like to use a detailer that would come to my house and detail my bike but only if i got recommendations from others that are happy with his work.
I haven't been able to find anyone in my area yet (Jax, FL) and I have been asking around.
So, if you do this, my advice would be just do good work and maybe offer some kind of referral bonus to your customers to keep them talking to their friends about your work.
To me, for this type of service, word of mouth is everything.

How much would you plan on charging?
A friend of mine does detailing on word of mouth part time, but he only does it because he likes to. In other words not much money made considering that he spends 8 hours or more on a bike. With the overhead (insurance, cleaning products, and time) that is involved I don't know how you can make any money.
