That's not what I would call "in dash".....

I've been using one of gilbo's billet handlebar mounts for almost 2 yrs with my Zumo 550.

Now with my new 1.5" BR Bars. I'm just using a Ram Mt on one of the gussets in the bars.

I did my Zumo on my FLHX with the fairing mount. It was easy, had a drill template and straight forward instructions. Dont have it mounted most of the time, and the cover looks good when the unit is stored. Im happy with the placement and view as well. Have a good one. EW

What wind screen do you have mounted? I'm trying to find out if this setup (Zumo 660 w/fairing mount) will work with a Klockwerks windscreen.

Have the dashboard mounted on my inner fairing so I obviously have the handlebar mount. Hell Yea, It's a little clustered, but who cares.

I wonder if you could modify the mount to mount it smack dab between the Speedo and the Tach? With the the way the Klock screen is, it would almost be like a hood for the GPS.

From a safety standpoint if your going to mount the 550, I gotta believe it's better to be closer to your hand on the handlebar than reaching up to a fairing mount. I've been very happy with the handlebar mount.

I haven't tried it for this reason: holes in the inner fairing are forever.

Default Harleys in dash mount for the 550 zumo

I first used the Ram mount supplied with the Zumo 550. I later went with the HD fairing mount and I really like it much better. I have not experienced any problem reaching the GPS. The install wasn't hard when using the template supplied with the mount. I marked it and checked it twice before drilling and held my breath until I saw the mount fitted perfectly. Try not to think about messing up the fairing if the holes are wrong. You will worry until you see it works, but it is not hard.
