Default antennas on the Ultras

Anyone have any suggestions for replacement antennas on the 05 Ultras. I personnally do not like the long whip antennas and would like to put something else on it. I bought 2 shorty antennas at Auto Zone. they work ok but i have lost some of the ability to pick up some of my normal stations I could get before. just wondering if anyone else has made the change and if they had good luck

Brian,

Can't give you any info on the CB part, but I put a Dakota Digital power antenna on my EG Classic, and it seems to work fine. This is a power antenna that mounts under the fairing, and is completely out of sight. Dakota Digital advertises that is will not pick up the Weather Bands, but mine seems to get one of two of them most of the time. As far as the AM/FM reception, it is as good as the reception on my 2002 Chev. Silverado.

Regards,

Bill

A couple of years ago, I bought mine from Freedom Cycle in Reno, Both for Radio and CB. I have not noticed any loss of reception or communication. The pair cost like $80.00 ,simple screw in installation. The best part about it is no more dealing with antenna's and garage door interference Dont know if the # is still current but here is the one I have 530.865.7010

I got tired of the whips hitting the top of the opening to my garage door and dropping paint chips on my bike. I just took the whips off the mounts and cut 12 inches off of each of them and put them back on. I have no loss of reception for all modes, CB, Radio and Weather and it looks much better. If you want pics, send me an PM and I will be glad to send thenm your way.
