2007 SG (with stock short shocks) and a 1 inch lowering kit.
Dunlop E3's with the MT/MU whatever front and 160/80/16 rear. I'd say the 160 is about the same size (width) as the stock 402.

Fits fine, runs great. Nothing to worry about.

Great info, as usual. Just another example of why this forum is such a valuable resource, and my first stop whenever I have questions concerning maintenance on my bike. Thanks, and ride safe on those new tires!

Am going to replace both tires next month.I think you guys just helped me
decide what I'm going to get. At 21,000 mi. I'm still on the original front but
on my 3rd rear tire. I also hate how a stock Dunlop tracks every groove
in the road.
Thanks

according to Dunlop's site
the MT90B16 load rating D402=783 vs The E-3's 770
the MU85B16 rear D402= 908 vs the E-3 930
so the front's a little less, the rear is a bit more...

I'm just saying.....

edited to add:
I've been running the E-3's on the rear, and just swapped out both front and rear... so far, I'm liking it. keep the air pressure up I run 43 rear, 40 front...and 25 in the shocks. Roads in NC are like sand paper...so wear will differ

When the shocks bottom does the tire ever make contact with the fender? On an '07 the wires for the rear lighting run up under the fender and I'm told can rub if the suspension is lowered beyond a certain point. Since that 160 tire is 3/4" taller I would worry about that, but if you have bottomed the shocks (easy on an SG) since installing the tire that should be good news. If you run into any clearance issues in the future please let us know.

not to correct anyone but pulled these numbers off the Dunlop website today.
MT90B16 H72=783lbs.(the same as stock front 402)
MU90B16H78=937lbs.(app.30 lbs. better than stock rear)

MT90B16 H72 Front
MU90B16 H78 Rear

I have been running these Dunlop E3 on my Road King for the past season. Changed both front and rear and have just under 7K on both. They are wearing fantastic as been said already. If it holds true i,m looking at least at 12 to 14K on the rear compaired to the 10K I ended up getting on the D402 Stocks. These tires stick like glue and really handle well both dry and wet. I did over 600 miles in the rain last year rolling to Myrtle Beach and they handled nicely. They have more of a Sport Bike tire tread. They also handle groved roads much nicer also

I keep my tire presure at 40 Rear and 38 Front, with 15-20lbs shock presure depending on if i,m riding solo or 2 up.

2 thumbs up for the E3s

Some of you keep saying that the 160/80/16 is 3/4 of an inch taller. Per Dunlop the Harley MU85b16 is 25.71 dia and the E3 160/80/16 is 26.10. So that is just .39" and devide that in half for fender clearance and you come up with .195. These specs are for a mounted tire so measuring a tire that isn't mounted for comparing purposes is a waste of time.

What's the deal with the E3's in radial and bias ply?
