OK, Update...

I decided to take it to the dealership a few hours ago after all... They just called, and said that the cable is too long. They're saying that the selling dealer (100 miles away) must have changed it out for some reason. They said that they will not cover it under warranty because the selling dealer didn't register it...

WHATEVER!!! I know that is total and complete BS, and I know that I should either push them to take care of it, or find another dealer...

BUT...the cable is only $30. So if I just say the heck with it, and do it myself, HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH CABLE? Is it pretty simple and straight forward??

I absolutely hate dealing with warranty stand-offs like this, and if it doesn't cost me too much time and money, then I'd just prefer to do it myself. Hate this crap!!!

If you ever walk into that dealer again, I hope it falls in on you.

You are victim to your typical local sorry-assed dealer who resents the fact you bought a bike from another dealer. Stay totally away from him! Post his name and location all over the net as a favor to us!

Use your common sense....IF the bike was delivered NEW with a too long or short cable then it is a manufacturing defect and covered under warranty!....Right?

I'll go ahead and answer your question, tho......It'll will cost you ruffly a hundred bucks to replace your clutch cable......It will also take a full day if you never done it before.

But if you dare do that based on that sorry-assed dealers word, then you can forever expect him to deny any and all warranty claims you might have with your clutch or tranny thru him.

Sorry for the way he's treating you. Your best bet is to take the scoot to selling dealer and ask that they fix it.......I traveled 425 miles to get mine and I'd haul it back there if I was getting screwed by local.

Hopefully you're not saying that you hope the building falls on me and kills me! LoL

Anyway, the Service Manager just called me. She appoligized and said that the tech made a mistake; the cable IS the correct one. They now think that the cable is just faulty, so they're currently in the process of replacing it. So I'll reserve judgment on the dealership until I get the bike back and see if they fixed it under warranty, as they should.

On a side note, they said they drained my tranny fluid, and it was somethign that they've never seen anything like before! LoL. They said it looked like pink paint. LoL ... It was just Redline! Just kinda funny the way she said it to me, as if it was some kind of extraterrestrial substance.

Hopefully the same tech who siad it was the wrong cable ain't the guy replacing it....Also, if they ain't never seen redline fluid, then they need to wrench a few more years before they work on real scoots.......

So.....you have a new bike with 2500 miles on it and it's sporting RedLine fluids?....Who installed the RedLine products? You or a dealer?

Ok.........you performed your own 1K service where you installed RedLine fluids....and now you have a driveline warranty claim.

Expect the dealer to attempt to charge you and claim that you failed to keep the warranty valid by using non HD fluids and not allowing them to do initial required 1K service.

Jusy expect that...........be ready for it....Have your ducks in a row if it happens.

Just to let everyone know, the cable was the culprit. They replaced it under warranty. The new cable does appear to be shorter. The other/original cable always seem to be too long to me. Anyway, much better now, the clutch is now smooth as butter.

Along with the choppy feel did your clutch not return to its full disengaged position? I only have 200 miles and have a hard time when using the friction zone and it either catches or skips the spot i am looking for then I noticed today that the clutch wont return all the way without me pushing it.

Have you considered a hydraulic system instead of a cable?
