RE: RK Classic stock seat
Its unfu*%ing believeable that the MOCO would put such a POS for a seat on the bike[:@]
Mines hanging on the garage wall, as I have never put my butt on it. I had the Sundowner Solo installed before I left the dealership.
Saved the seat for some 2 up riding, and now I got a chick-a-dee thats wants to take a putt, so I guess I'll be seeing first hand whats up with it[&:]
But I planning on buying the solo's passenger pad later

Go ahead and get a new seat, you won't be sorry.
I had the Sundowner installed before I left the dealership, otherwise my wife wouldn't have let bring it home.
We have friends that had the stock seat off a ultra classic, thinking it would be comfortable, that lasted for about 1 week and they now have a new sundowner and all is ok again on the home front.

You don't say whether you're taking along a passenger. I happen to like the looks of the stock Road King Classic seat (the leather trim is cool) and it's fine for riding around town. But the passenger pillion is narrow and only good for day trips. If I didn't have a passenger, the stock seat would be OK for several days touring. The stock seat is a compromise in looks and comfort but for my height (6 ft), it works out OK.
I bought a Sundowner and my wife and I rode on it for seven days last week. The passenger seat is a lot wider and firmer than the stock and my wife said she didn't get butt fatigue as fast on it. The rider seat is a bucket and it's firmer than the stock seat. Once you put your butt there it doesn't move around much and the rim of the seat gives good back support. It forces the hips to tilt back while in riding position, which I think helps back support. This backward tilt, however, makes it less comfortable than the stock seat when doing a lot of starting and stopping. It has the Road King Classic leather and concho, but the trim is skimpy compared to the stock seat. Like handlebars, what works for one person may not work for another. These saddles ain't cheap so see if you can have a sit on one at the dealer or bike club before buying.
