Mustang Solo w/Backrest and it gets better every day! If you go solo, then the size of the Pillion probably wont matter since it'll only be on when a guest is with you, and you might as well make it as comfy as possible. And the chrome is fantastic!

****((((Just don't buy a Saddlemen see: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=287390

Go Mustang!!!!

Default 2008 Prices

If you're going to buy new, you might want to make up your mind sooner rather than later. I called Mustang directly a couple weeks ago regarding the mustang solo with backrest. They were willing to offer 2008 prices and a deal on shipping until they come out with the 2009 catalog. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

I talked to Mustang Friday and they are shipping me a 15" solo w/backrest and 11" pillion. I believe there is an option for 13" pillion as well. This is what they recommended for me to be low AND comfortable.

If you deal directly with Mustang (and some dealers) they will give you 10 days to try the seat. Was hard for me to turn down.

I was wanting same things as you - low profile but the best comfort on trips and the best back rest.

If you don't like the Mustang, I would also check C & C Motorcycle Seats at www.ccseats.com. That is what I will try next if I don't find a Mustang to work for me.

I have the 76230 Sport Touring when Wendy and I ride, then I swap it out for my C&C Fastback when it's just me....

I've had several Mustangs, Roadking, '05 SEEG and they're great..!! Now on my '09 FLHX...you'll love it..!!!

I have the 3 piece (solo, rider backrest, and 13" pillion) on my RG. I run just the solo most of the time. I have done 850 mile days on it np. My butt prefers the Mustang over a Corbin, but everyone's preferences are different so YMMV. I have a Corbin on my softail and for me it's good for a few hundred miles but my **** gets sore after that on it because it is so firm.

Solo on '07 without removable backrest (#79100) from several angles. Sig photo shows seat with backrest. The fender bib is from Timber Wolf Leather.

My bikes all torn apart right now, but I have the 2 piece with driver backrest (must have) and the biggest pillion they offer for my wife. The 2 piece, IMO, is the best way to go. Because like it's been said, you can take the pillion off and go solo in 30 seconds.

There are many fine places to make your purchase, but I went with www.lewiscustomcycles.com and was very happy with Ronnie and his customer service. Great price, free shipping and he threw in the mini-bib for free. I also ordered the regular bib and that looks great when running solo.

I bought mine and went on a 4K mile trip in 2 weeks (one 500 mile day) and was very happy with the seat.

Good luck.
