Gas or Electric leaf Blower?
#12
I started off with a 2-cycle, got worried about the potential for oil in the air stream or drips from the carb, and switched to an electric (Toro) leaf blower. Only thing you've got to be careful of is that damn cord. Get too close to the bike and it'll leave a small scuff wherever it touches (don't ask how I know this!).
I've been debating about one of the air blasters for a while, don't think I want to spend that much though. I may pick up one of the wall-mounted shop vacs from Home Depot that comes with the 12' long hose and just put a reducer on it like 07FLHRCMarinePatriot suggests.

I use Stihl gas blower. I always blow off the driveway first so theres no dust or dirt to worry about. I also chalk my front wheel cause I worry a little about enough air on the inside of the windshield pushing the bike forward off the Wheeldock Centerstand. I do the fine tune blowdrying with a nozzle off a regulator LP hose and pressure from scuba tank. I also have a quick release tire inflator that I can use with the scuba tank.

I use a gas leaf blower........... I am kinda wondering how any oil or anything else coming out of the exhaust would end up being blown on my bike. The air intake for the blower is separate from the exhaust of the motor............
My air compressor gets used several hours a day. There is alot more oil and moisture in my compressed air lines than would ever come through my leaf blower.

Gas for me. I don't want to fool with a cord, and especially don't want to be staggering around in water with an electric cord tangled around my feed. My gas blower has never blown oil out. It sucks the air from the bottom and blows the exhaust out the side. I guess it possible could blow some oil if you mixed your 2 stroke oil too rich. The first sign of that would be oil blown all over your pants.
Filtered air? Give me a break. You ain't gonna damage your paint unless you stand in a sand pile to blow your bike off. Most people dry their bike where they wash it. The water will hold down the dust, even on a gravel driveway.
