Default Torx plus sizes needed to work on UC

I was wondering what size torx plus wrenches are needed to work on an UC? Should i purchase a set of them or can I get by with 4 or 5 and just purchase the ones I will use? thanks for your help.

I cant remeber off the top of my head, but I am thinking that my set has 6, and I had to buy the T-27 to add to what was in the set. I am guessing that you need a T-20, T-27, T-40, for sure, Not sure about the rest.

T27 for sure, as most sets go right from T25 to T30 and skip this bit. My biggest advice? Dont buy cheap. These bits twist easily so get a good set that is "hardened" steel. Price will be 2-3 times the price of cheap ones but well worth the money, especially after you see just how soft those cheap ones are.

I am new to working on my own bike. (15000 miles so far) There is one size (I think its the T27) that is a PITA to find sold solo without paying better tool prices. I bought my set from Sears or Walmart. I have wrenches and sockets, but I did buy the 36mm socket for the rear axle when I changed my tires. Sears seems like a decent place, unless its a full time job for you. I think I bought a 1/2 torque wrench from Home Cheapo too. Buy as you go. I saved a few bucks listening to this forum with time saving tips, especially with the rear tire change out.

Let me know when you have everything you need, so I can move in to your neighborhood and borrow what I dont have yet.

My dealer is selling these in both hex and torx..... http://www.hexpro.net

they are really handy and come in a dandy canvas pouch that is great for storing in your bags......only problem is their torx version has really sloppy fit because they are not torx plus.....

I do suggest however you look at their hex set. The flex design makes it super easy to reach many difficult allen bolts on your scoot.

As far as your question goes....Using a cheap full torx set, just test fit all the torx fasteners on your scoot and note the ones you need, then buy each separately in torx plus size off the net....they are only a few bucks each that way....we are lucky today cause a year ago it was impossible to find torx plus altogether.

You will need them for the Bike, I found a Socket Set Torx Bits for around $ 20.00, Wally World, Stanley Tools and they work Great, Have all the sizes I need.

Trust me I have a couple of BIG tool boxes full of tools, but what I use all the time is a set of L shaped torx wrenches, look like hex wrenches, I bought at Auto Zone. They are good quality with a ball end on the long end. I break loose the derby cover with them and don't need to take the floorboard off like I do with a socket. Also I don't overtighten with them either. I carry them in the bags all the time.
