Cool what do I need to lower an 08 SG

With one foot flat and my heel just off the ground at a stop what would be the easiest way to lower my bike too be flat footed at all stops? And how much pressure do you guys run in the back ,I have about 15 lbs in it now.

1" lowering blocks mounted to the swingarm. I have them on my 08SG. Bought them on ebay. Yep it will ride a little harsher, although it's not bad. Wife and I ride two up, add more air so it won't bottom , about 10# more. I run 35# with just me and 45# with both of us.

Change the seat. (if you are running the stock one)

You would be surpised at how much that can help getting your feet down. A seat that has a lower bucket and narrower nose will help you a lot. The SG seat is pretty wide at the nose, as well as where your legs hang over the side, hampering your ability to get your legs down. If you really picture it in your mind, think about how much more your legs are splayed apart by a seat that is even as little as 1/2" wider at the nose, than another one that is narrower. The more your legs are forced apart, the farther it is for your feet to get to the ground. Changing from the stock seat will also simply be more comfortable to boot, as your getting a better seat, and your not taking travel out of the suspension.

see this comparison (this is for an 07 Streetglide)

Look at the saddle heights, of the stock seat vs the mustang solo, and look at the width of the nose of those two seats in the photos shot from above.

IMHO, changing from the Stock SG seat to the Mustang solo, would be the equivelent of dropping the bike 1-1-1/2" easy. (been there, done that) Also, if you order DIRECT from Mustang, you have 10 days to try the seat out and return it for a full refund (undamaged) if you find it does not do what you want.

I would recommend the Mustang solo.
