Deal or no Deal 09 Ultra
I stopped by a local HD dealer today to kill some time and the sales guy asked me what I rode and would I be interested in a upgrade so I sat down w/the saleman and this is the deal he offered 09 Flhtcu any 2 tone paint I wanted (leanin toward Sunglo red smokey gold)
ABS alarm stock rims 22,200 plus tax. Now I have a 07 Ultra Jakeelwood blue w/lots and lots of goodies most of which I will keep and sell I will get a trade in credit of 16000 plus tax credit of approx 1400 dollars that would be a total of 17400 approx..What do think
PS called a couple of dealers to see if they would do better still waiting....

not my numbers but they look right
Just looked at the numbers released by the MOCO. Look worse than most analysts expected:
Harley-Davidson profit down 58%, plans to cut shipments
(6:21 AM ET) LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Harley-Davidson Inc.said Friday that its fourth-quarter net profit fell 58% to $77.8 million, or 34 cents a share, from $186.1 million, or 78 cents a share, a year earlier as it also announced plans to restructure and reduce shipments in 2009. The group said revenue for the final quarter of 2008 fell 6.8% to $1.29 billion and worldwide retail sales of its motorcycles fell 13.1% from a year earlier as U.S. demand slumped. In the first quarter of 2009, the company expects to ship between 74,000 and 78,000 new motorcycles, representing a 3.5% to 8.5% increase on a year earlier. But for 2009 as a whole it expects to ship between 264,000 and 273,000 units -- a decline of 10% to 13%. Margin will be between 30.5% and 31.5%, compared to 34.5% in 2008, but the firm said it won't give earnings guidance because of the volatile economic environment.
Does this mean some good deals in the near future? I think so. T

Or it means that the dealers need to make as much as they can on the bikes they have. If they are getting fewer bikes, they either need the trade ins or better margin on sales.
