Well, like everyone has said, give her some time and maybe she'll decide to ride again some day. At least she's okay now, even though she still has some pain I'm sure. It's too bad that an idiot in a cage can disrupt your life so easily.

I am sorry to hear that. I am glad that she is relatively okay and that she is still with you. As stated before, I hope that you will find another hobby to enjoy together.

Women have a tremendous capacity for physical and mental anquish. Support her and the decision she has made and give it time.

It's not the same situation, but many women after childbirth, swear that they'll have no more children but in many cases, with time, they change their minds.

Good luck and wish your wife well.

First let me say I am truly sorry to hear that, and second if she does great and if not that should be ok to, you still have her and I know by reading your post you’re truly blessed.

Good luck.

That's tough to hear. Biking isn't everything and thankfully you've still got the most important thing. I can understand. I was rear-ended last year - thankfully no damage to me but $2,000 plus on the bike. I'm still paranoid whenever I'm stopped at a light or stop sign that somebody's going to plow into me. I watch the mirrors closely. If I'd been hurt badly I may have hung up the chaps by now, too.

Thanks for all the support. She has started guilting and sewing and as some have suggested, we have actually started another hobby together. Shooting firearms. I am married to a wonderful lady. She likes to sew AND go put holes in targets with her .38 Pink Lady. I have supported her the whole way and won't stop now. If she ever decides to give it a go again, the doors will spin at the dealership. Until then, I'll ride... she can sew... and we will shoot the heck out of some targets.

I feel for you. It happened to me back in 85. My brother had an accident and his ankle was crushed.. I lost a brother to all the "sports, hiking, riding".. I was surprised 2 yrs ago he bought a bike, trailered it from Philly area to my house and we spent a week at Daytona bike week. it took 20 yrs but he's back somewhat...

Keep the faith
