Question Re-locatable Tour Pak Mount

I remember seeing a Tour Pak mount that attached to the bike using the stock HD docking hardware and allowed the user to move (switch) the Tour Pak from the Two-up position to Solo position in seconds without tools. It looked like you kind of released a lock and lifted the TP up and forward (or aft) then it locked in place. The TP remained attached to the bike the whole time. I’ve been searching for the web site and can’t seem to find it. Has anyone else seen this? If so, please post the link.

Not that one, but Kuryakyn has two different types. One for fixed tour pak mounts and one for detachable mounts.

Cool Dawadesigns On Tour

Hey thanks GT… but I just found it; this is the coolest thing I think I’ve seen for us baggers. It all started when I wanted to change my ’08 SG seat to a solo seat but had already bought a King Tour Pak. I wanted to be able to switch quickly from two-up to solo without the hassle of reconstructive surgery. This thing is perfect when you have a solo bucket seat w/ removable passenger pillion. Man you have it all; removable tour-pak that converts from solo position to two-up in 7 seconds… Now for the BAD part… they want $700 smacker for this Holey-Grail of convenience and flexibility. I haven’t pulled the trigger on this one yet and am thinking seriously about weather it’s worth it. Any of you folks have one??? Is it worth it???

Here is the link to the mount:

I think I would be doing a lot of reconstructive surgery for that price. It's slicker than snot, but I wouldn't buy it at that price.

Talking Not too Cheap

I agree, the price is pretty ugly… I could almost setup a second rig with the Chopped Tour Pak & detachable solo mount for a few bucks more. Even at half the price I’d have to do some serious thinking. Furthermore, I haven't heard any reviews, know of anyone who has one, or have seen one first hand. As big as this Forum is, I’d of least expected at least one person who has experience with this product, chime in. I wonder if they’ve sold any.

I'd like to have one, but at that price I bet I could find a local machine shop to build one for under $300. Looks to me if you have some basic tools and skills it wouldn't be all that hard to construct.

Before the forum changeover, an HDF member had fabbed a detachable tour pak rack that could move the TP from a solo to a two-up location. IIRC, he used automotive seat track hardware as the mechanism and fabbed some plates to mount the track hardware to the rack, and the TP to the track hardware. Very clever and functional design.

There are some older threads on here about "George Williams" or "Anderson" or close.. that makes something similar that allows a detach tourpac rack to adjust to solo.. Somewhere here.. HHmm.. and not too expensive..
