I want to trade my 08 Anniversary Ultra in on another bike. The bike has 1500 miles on it and about $7500 in accessories. Dealer wants to offer me 16k as a trade. KBB and NADA are showing a better value, but I do understand the economy plays into all of this. What do you guys feel is a fair trade in?
Seems a little low. When i traded in my '08 Fatboy for the '09 Bones I got $15,500. Of course they first came out with 13K and told me that was an awesome deal. I said thanks and told them I would keep the bike I had and started walking.
Had that economy crap throwed up at me. Said my trade had lost $1000 because of the economy. I said, "That's fine, your's did too. Same economy". My bike somehow re-gained the value

Thanks in advance,
There wa a 08 Anniv Ultra that sold for ebay for about $20K...you might want to give it a try.
You could always take all the accessories back off it and sell them seperate from the bike. The dealer sure isn't goin to give you anything for them. I always get good money for take offs on EBAY.
I agree take off the extra if you really want to trade and sell them or put them on the new bike. Keep in mind you'll probably only get half or slightly higher of what you paid for them but at least you won't be throwing them away to the dealer.
I'd try another dealer. This is the slower season depending on your weather and riding conditions. Spring might bump it up a bit depending on the economy.
Never count on the extra goodies giving you a good return. Eye candy in all forms cost your money in the end!
The answer is are you ok with the deal and want to do it. I got the deal I wanted when I talked to them on the Ultra. Now I did have to order it and wait. My only complaint THE WEATHER.
