Just wondering. People often think that the only reason people get a touring bike is when you want very comfortable 2 up riding. But, there have been many, many times, I have seen men just riding the heck out of them by themselves or a group of other touring bikes with a singular person on it. This leads me to believe that the attraction is of the bike itself for the driver, and the comfort of the passenger just an added plus.

Do you take your wife or significant other with you most of the time? If not, why did YOU buy your touring bike?

Mine is mostly for me and myself and I. Some gal wants to ride, let her get her own freakin bike.

 

Both but mainly by myself.

 

I like the feel of a big tour bike. My wife loves to ride when she can. We "Toured" all over for many years on my Sportster so I do enjoy the comforts of my EG.

 

Not sure why anyone would think that if its a "touring bike", that it would be exclusively for 2-up riding??

Fairing, suspension, bags/trunk...yada yada Stuff for touring.

Last time I checked Softails, Dyna's, Sportsters and even V-Rods have a passenger seat stock.

 

My wife has been riding on the back since 1978. OMG thats 30 years! I can't leave home without her. She's a champ at it to. We have done some 700 milers back to back with no complaining. She even knows how to pack and what to wear.

 

I have a Road Glide mainly for comfort and storage on long trips which only include myself. I've been with my wife for ~28 years, she does not share the same interest in bikes she did when we first met. She is good for 150 miles, then it's time to turn around.

 

My favorite riding time is by myself with the solo seat on. Puts me right into a pleasure zone. But, the wife loves to ride on the back, as well. I enjoy that too, just not as much.

 

The only time I ride solo is to work or for a quick ride to town. My wife is on the back most of the time. Can't keep her off.
