Having owned both, I can tell you, liquid cooled is more comfortable and less maintenance. It's about the $$$, folks. Our bikes already cost too much. Imagine what they'd cost if the MoCo re-designed and re-tooled for liquid cooled and even shaft drive! Ouch! I love my HD and I always will, but there's nothing wrong with a better mouse trap.
I don't think anything has the heart and soul of an aircooled uneven firing V-Twin like the Twin Cam. The liquid cooled V-Rod has proven it does not.

We are lacking lots of hp, mpg and reliability by continuing to use air cooled engines on our big assed touring bikes.

Don't shoot me, just please offer your vote and suggestions to my proposal.
go buy metric!

I think Harleys are fine the way they are. Of course, I still wear a mechanical watch that I have to wind every morning so what do I know?
