It's kinda funny how I can see cagers turn their heads and check their left mirror whenever I'm in the hammer lane easing up to pass them....They hear me first, then actually look for me.

With the stock pipes and even Jamie's Rush slipon's almost everyday someone would change lanes not knowing I was approaching.

They certainly ain't for everyone.....you also need to consider local law enforcement attitudes and if you plan to travel out of your area where sound laws might be more strictly enforced....And don't forget your neighbors......If you live in typical burb, then neighbors might get real tired of your morning warm up cycle.

Are they all "straight pipes"? Even the slip-ons?

I dunno bout other makers, but the Samson guy I called only had straight pipes to fit my scoot.......I was after style, not sound or performance...I wanted fishtails that extended way beyond my bags...Sampson was the only guys who offered them that long and they happened to be straight pipes, so I got them and installed torque cones and scheduled a dyno tune to tweek my pciii....all is good except they are WAY too loud for most folks. I happen to like LOUD and am lucky in that the cops round here don't mind.....I live in rural area so I don't bother neighbors, but I give the intown cagers fits

HD once sold screaming eagle slipons that would accept their fishtail endcaps and they looked/sounded really good without being too loud....several other makers also make fishtails that are baffled.

If you are concerned with sound levels keep looking.

Don't forget you can have custom pipes made. I go the custom route kinda regular and find that many shops enjoy my outlandish requests.

Those looking for the fishtail slip ons might want to check Vance & Hines. They are nice sounding and great quality. No tinny sound there.

I got my fishtails and put them on Monday. They sound deep but not overly loud and don't hurt my ears at all on the road. The slip-ons must be alot mellower than the ones that people complain about. I'm very happy with the sound.
