Putting Weight on Rear Passenger Peg

I have stood on mine and I'm not to shy to say I weigh 260lbs, I don't think I'd want to jump up and down on them though. I always sit on the bike and she steps onto the left board and steps through with no problems, did this on our last bike for 14000 miles no problems. I think the main thing is her putting her foot completely onto the board, not just stepping on the outer part, and the pegs should hold any passenger that's going to get on one. I'm not afraid to say the Ms is no lightwieght, but I've seen passengers that make her look petite, and they got on thier bike the same way, how else could they???

I had the bolt on one of the boards break. I was in the yard at the time with no weight on it. I thought the bolt fell out. The bike was only about 2 weeks old. The dealer fixed it and all is good now but it does make me nervous now. I wonder if a grade 5 bolt would be better than a grade 8 bolt.

I doubt he's joking, he obviously knows a grade 5 bolt won't break as easy as a grade 8. A grade 5 bolt will bend before it will break and a grade 8 won't, it will just break.
